Long distance relationships CAN work (even in website design)! In February 2014, I met Debbie, the owner of Treasures of the Heart (which is a metaphysical store and sacred art gallery) through a referral. Debbie was looking for a new website for her store and loved what I had done for her friend, Terry Favour of Teresa del Rito. Even though Debbie was located in Canada, I was confident that I could build a site — all the way from Arizona — that she would love.
A few months after our initial conversation, we started rolling. For this project, Debbie nominated a good friend of hers, Teron Wolf, to collaborate with me on the vision she was looking for in her website. Teron reached out to me and I will never forget something he said in his first eMail to me:
That line got me excited because I knew WordPress was going to be the right platform for the job! Teron went on to describe the content and desired look and feel that Debbie was after. With all the details in hand, I put together a proposal for building the new Treasures of the Heart website. A few weeks later, I began the WordPress website build on my development domain. As the details rolled in, I incorporated them into the development site and every step of the way, Teron and Debbie had the opportunity to see the new site as it progressed.
Hi Joe, I Just looked at the new website LIVE and I’m thrilled!! You have done such a great job! It’s BEAUTIFUL,professional, easy to find everything, etc. etc. etc.! I can’t thank you enough for all of your hard work, expertise, creativity, promptness, and last but not least, what a delight you were to work with. I received continual reports from Teron about how much he loved working with you and how fast you replied to all of his emails. Thanks so much for making this so easy for me!
